Founder and Contributor

Victor Justus Messerschmidt is a German-Czech lawyer specialising in intellectual property and the international art market. He holds an LL.M. in Art Law from Rome.

He has practised film law and intellectual property in international and boutique firms and in-house in the luxury sector, across Germany, Italy, and Austria.

As a former member of the Vienna Boys' Choir and a lifelong pianist, he came to law from the creative world. His studies during the master on the evolution of the art market between art advisory and legal issues turned his focus to the acquisition, advisory and circulation of artworks and collectible design.

The Philosophy

Æsthesis Studio is a platform for art market intelligence, collecting culture, and editorial dialogue.

Through portraying current artist positions, in-depth editorials, conversations with leading art market authors and journalists, we offer a perspective for established collectors, emerging patrons, and corporate institutions seeking to engage with contemporary art.

The platform grows through ongoing collaborations with galleries, publishers, and cultural voices. A central focus rests on the axis between the DACH region and Italy - two markets bound by historical relevance, yet under-connected in contemporary exchange.

We build this network through a biweekly briefing, dedicated essays, and joint initiatives.
